BDB CEO Stoyan Mavrodiev participates in the anniversary economic forum of Euromoney Magazine in Vienna
Green finance, climate change and the challenges of eco-investment are among the leading topics of the 25th anniversary of the annual Central and Eastern Europe Forum opened today in Vienna. The forum brings together top-ranked investors, business leaders, politicians and financiers and is organized by Euromoney and Global Capital.
BDB CEO Stoyan Mavrodiev will host a workshop on investing in Bulgaria, which will be held today under the title of "Invest in Bulgaria - expand in Europe". Deputy Minister of Finance Marinela Petrova and BDB Executive Officer Nikolay Dimitrov will also take part in the workshop, as well as financiers and economic analysts, including Kyril Saxe-Coburg-Gotha, Vladimir Karolev, Ilia Lingorski and Sophia Kassidova.
Within two days, the forum will examine the macroeconomic prospects for Central and Eastern Europe for 2020 and the long-term priorities for the financing of sustainable economic development in the countries of the region.
Particular attention will be paid to the EC European Green Deal program for financing new generation green companies and eco-innovation. It will operate over the next 10 years and envisages investments in a carbon-neutral economy worth EUR 1 trillion.
"Green industries and companies are the new trend for investment. The transition to a carbon-neutral energy and circular economy in our region is a major challenge, but Europe's strategic green targets will be the leading focus", Stoyan Mavrodiev told the media at the opening today. According to him, the national development banks will play a significant role in the investment programs of the European Commission and the governments.
On the second day of the event Stoyan Mavrodiev will participate in a discussion on building a sustainable economy in Central and Eastern Europe, which will also include senior bankers and financiers from a number of European institutions.
